This kit replaces AL3109. The AlphaLISA™ immunoassay kit for human TREM2 enables the quantitative determination of human TREM2 in buffer, cell culture media, serum, cell lysates and cell supernatants using a homogeneous AlphaLISA assay (no wash steps).
For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. All products to be used in accordance with applicable laws and regulations including without limitation, consumption and disposal requirements under European REACH regulations (EC 1907/2006).
TREM-2 is known as Triggering Receptor Expressed on Myeloid Cells 2. The TREM family of receptors regulates the activity of various cell types of the immune system, including neutrophils, monocyte/macrophages, microglia, and dendritic cells. Soluble TREM-2 has been detected in human cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), where it was found to be elevated in patients with multiple sclerosis and other inflammatory neurological conditions in comparison to patients without inflammatory neurologic disorders.
AlphaLISA technology allows the detection of molecules of interest in a no-wash, highly sensitive, quantitative assay. In an AlphaLISA assay, a biotinylated anti-analyte antibody binds to the Streptavidin-coated Donor beads while another anti-analyte antibody is conjugated to AlphaLISA Acceptor beads. In the presence of the analyte, the beads come into close proximity. The excitation of the Donor beads causes the release of singlet oxygen molecules that triggers a cascade of energy transfer in the Acceptor beads, resulting in a sharp peak of light emission at 615 nm.
