  • C-C Motif Chemokine 4 (CCL4), also known as Macrophage Inflammatory Protein-1beta (MIP-1ß), is a chemokine that signals through the CCR5 receptor. It acts as a chemoattractant for monocytes, natural killer cells, and numerous other immune cells. CCL4 is also an important regulator of macrophage migration. Activated T cells, B cells, and monocytes rapidly synthesize CCL4. After adhering to the laminin found in the basement membrane of blood vessels, neutrophils also synthesize CCL4. It has been noted to have direct antiviral effect against HSV-1 and is one of the main HIV-suppressive factors made by CD8+ T cells. A dose-dependent suppression of several strains of HIV-1, HIV-2, and simian immunodeficiency virus is also brought about by recombinant CCL4.

    Formats

    • Half the time of an ELISA assay

AlphaLISA technology allows the detection of molecules of interest in a no-wash, highly sensitive, quantitative assay. In an AlphaLISA assay, a biotinylated anti-analyte antibody binds to the Streptavidin-coated Donor beads while another anti-analyte antibody is conjugated to AlphaLISA Acceptor beads. In the presence of the analyte, the beads come into close proximity. The excitation of the Donor beads causes the release of singlet oxygen molecules that triggers a cascade of energy transfer in the Acceptor beads, resulting in a sharp peak of light emission at 615 nm.
