D-mannitol, labeled at position 2 with 14C.
50 µCi quantity of Mannitol, D-[2-14C]- available for research. Mannitol is a sugar alcohol that is sometimes used as a sweetener due to its low glycemic index. It is produced by plants and fungi, and has been shown to play a role in fungal pathogenesis (Chaturvedi et al., Microbiology, 1996). Mannitol has more-recently been shown to help clear secretions in patients with cystic fibrosis (Nolan et al., Cochrane Database Syst Rev. 2015).
