This chamber provides biological isolation of anesthetized mice or small rats before they are imaged in an in vivo imaging system.
The chamber is used for use with Revvity’s in vivo imaging systems. The purpose of the chamber is to provide biological isolation of anesthetized mice or small rats while they are being imaged. This isolation is accomplished by filtering the gas mixture going into the XIC-3 as well as the exhaust gas coming from the chamber. The XIC-3 is a sealed box which should not be opened within the confines of the IVIS light-box. This prevents the contamination of the XIC-3 chamber interior by potential pathogens, as well as the un-controlled dispersal of confined anesthetic gas.
