The AlphaLISA™ SureFire® Ultra™ Human and Mouse Total Wee1 assay is a sandwich immunoassay for quantitative detection of total Wee1 in cellular lysates using Alpha Technology.
Wee1, a serine/threonine kinase, plays a key role in regulating the cell cycle. Wee1 activity is increased in response to DNA damage to support cell cycle arrest. By phosphorylating and deactivating CDK1, Wee1 controls the G2/M cell cycle checkpoint. Wee1 phosphorylates CDK2 during the S phase, preventing cells from moving on to the subsequent cell cycle phase until DNA replication or repair is complete. Wee1 is overexpressed in numerous tumors and has been linked to cancer patients' poor disease-free survival. Thus, Wee1 inhibition is a current research topic, especially with the introduction of novel strategies utilizing PROTACs (PROteolysis TArgeting Chimeras).
The AlphaLISA SureFire Human and Mouse Total Wee1 Detection Kit is a sandwich immunoassay for the quantitative detection of total Wee1 in cellular lysates, using Alpha Technology.
