Spare shields B 15 SS to support 5 mL - 12 mL blood collection tubes or 15 mL conical tubes on RA `12/12 (up to 12 x 12 mL or up to 6 x 15 mL).

Note: Unit purchase of 1 includes 12 spare shields. To support, for example, maximum all 12 tubes per run using the RA 12/12 rotor on the centrifuge, you need to order 1 unit only. Purchase of rotor already includes 12 shields.

Centrifuge shields are important when supporting a variety of tube types for angled rotors (RA series) to support sample centrifugation, properly and safely. They help researchers utilize different size tubes and/or collection vessels into the same centrifuge rotor to properly support safe sample centrifugation across our offering of centrifuges and centrifuge accessories for fixed angle rotors. All rotors include shields at purchase, so these are spare shields.

Spare shields are compatible with their corresponding rotors. Rotors are labelled as RA XX / XX, where RA notese Rotor-type Angled and the first XX indicates maximum # of tubes supported per run, and second XX after / indicates maximum volume per tube or vessel. For example, Spare shields for RA 6/50 indicated shields are for that rotor's use and supports fixed angled spin of up to 6 tubes up to 50 mL using 50 mL conicals. Different maximum number of tubes or tube volumes may be supported, so please inquire as needed.
