The AlphaLISA™ immunoassay kit for human CCL22 enables the quantitative determination of CCL22 in buffer, cell culture media, serum, cell lysates and cell supernatants using a homogeneous AlphaLISA assay (no wash steps).
C-C motif chemokine ligand 22 (CCL22) is a protein secreted by dendritic cells and macrophages. It elicits its effects on target cells by interacting with cell surface chemokine receptors, such as CCR4. CCL22 is a mild chemoattractant for primary activated T-lymphocytes and a potent chemoattractant for chronically activated T-lymphocytes and may play a role in tracking T-lymphocytes to inflammatory sites. CCL22 is associated with various inflammatory processes.
AlphaLISA technology allows the detection of molecules of interest in a no-wash, highly sensitive, quantitative assay. In an AlphaLISA assay, a biotinylated anti-analyte antibody binds to the Streptavidin-coated Donor beads while another anti-analyte antibody is conjugated to AlphaLISA Acceptor beads. In the presence of the analyte, the beads come into close proximity. The excitation of the Donor beads causes the release of singlet oxygen molecules that triggers a cascade of energy transfer in the Acceptor beads, resulting in a sharp peak of light emission at 615 nm.
