Features:
Bovine Interleukin 10 (bIL10) is a member of the IL10 family of cytokines (IL10, IL-19, IL-20, IL-22, IL-28A, IL-18B, and IL-29), which is essential for maintaining the integrity and homeostasis of tissue epithelial layers. By promoting innate immune response, members of this family can limit the damage caused by viral and bacterial infections. In infection or inflammation, some of these cytokines can promote tissue healing. IL10, as a cytokine inhibitory factor (CSIF), reduces inflammation by inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokines. Thus, IL10 levels in biological samples are closely associated with viral, bacterial infections, or injuries. The present kit is designed to detect bIL10 in bovine serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants.
AlphaLISA technology allows the detection of molecules of interest in a no-wash, highly sensitive, quantitative assay. In an AlphaLISA assay, a biotinylated anti-analyte antibody binds to the Streptavidin-coated Donor beads while another anti-analyte antibody is conjugated to AlphaLISA Acceptor beads. In the presence of the analyte, the beads come into close proximity. The excitation of the Donor beads causes the release of singlet oxygen molecules that triggers a cascade of energy transfer in the Acceptor beads, resulting in a sharp peak of light emission at 615 nm.
