The AlphaLISA™ SureFire® Ultra™ Human and Mouse Phospho-PDHA1 (Ser293) assay is a sandwich immunoassay for quantitative detection of phospho-PDHA1 (Ser293) in cellular lysates using Alpha Technology.
Pyruvate dehydrogenase E1 subunit alpha 1 (PDHA1) is an enzyme involved in the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex (PDC). PDC is a multi-enzyme complex of the mitochondria that provides a link between glycolysis and the Krebs cycle and plays an essential role in producing acetyl-CoA from glucose leading to ATP or energy production. The PDHA1 enzyme is regulated by phosphorylation and dephosphorylation. Diseases associated with PDHA1 include pyruvate dehydrogenase E1-alpha deficiency, X-linked Leigh syndrome, and numerous solid tumor cancers.
