  • General control nonderepressible 2 (GCN2) is a serine/threonine-protein kinase that plays a key role in modulating amino acid metabolism as a response to nutrient deprivation. GCN2 is one of the four known sensors of the integrated stress response (ISR), which is a cytoprotective response mediated by eIF2α. Under conditions of amino acid deprivation, GCN2 inactivates eIF2α by phosphorylation, and eIF2α phosphorylation can also lead to enhanced transcription of mRNA molecules involved in host response to infection and inflammation. GCN2 is associated with cancer.

    The AlphaLISA SureFire UltraHuman Phospho-GCN2 (Thr899) assay is a sandwich immunoassay for the quantitative detection of phospho-GCN2 (Thr899) in cellular lysates, using Alpha Technology.

    Formats:
    • The HV (high volume) kit contains reagents to run 100 wells in 96-well format, using a 60 μL reaction volume.
    • The 500-point kit contains enough reagents to run 500 wells in 384-well format, using a 20 μL reaction volume.
    • The 10,000-point kit contains enough reagents to run 10,000 wells in 384-well format, using a 20 μL reaction volume.
    • The 50,000-point kit contains enough reagents to run 50,000 wells in 384-well format, using a 20 μL reaction volume.
