Overview

Cyclin A2 belongs to the highly conserved cyclin family, whose members function as regulators of the cell cycle. This protein binds and activates cyclin-dependent kinase 2 and thus promotes transition through G1/S and G2/M. Autophagy plays a role in cyclin A2 degradation to prevent its accumulation at the end of mitosis. Cyclin A2 is usually linked to cell proliferation and as such is often found expressed at a high level in human cancers.

The AlphaLISA SureFire Ultra Human and Mouse Total Cyclin A2 Detection Kit is a sandwich immunoassay for the quantitative detection of total Cyclin A2 in cellular lysates, using Alpha Technology.
