The AlphaLISA® SureFire® Ultra™ Human and Mouse Total ß-Catenin assay is a sandwich immunoassay for quantitative detection of total ß-Catenin in cellular lysates using Alpha Technology.
Catenin beta-1 (β-catenin) is a protein that is coded by the CTNNB1 gene. The Wnt/β-Catenin signaling pathway is crucial to regulating cell proliferation and polarity, cell determination, and tissue homeostasis. In the absence of extracellular WNT ligands, cytosolic β-Catenin is phosphorylated, thereby targeting the protein for ubiquitination, degradation, and inactivation. β-Catenin is implicated in various cancers and neurological diseases, such as salivary gland tumors, oral squamous cell carcinomas, Alzheimer’s disease, and Parkinson’s disease.
