Overview

Insta-Fluor Plus contains the classical solvent Pseudocumene which is also known as 1,2,4-Trimethylbenzene and is an aromatic hydrocarbon. The aromatic nature of pseudocumene allows it to react with radioactivity and makes it an ideal solvent component of Liquid Scintillation Counting (LSC) cocktails.

This ready-to-use cocktail is designed for the optimal counting organic and non-aqueous samples and analyzing samples from two-phase extraction assays. To use, just add the radioactive sample to Insta-Fluor Plus, shake and count in one of Revvity's Liquid Scintillation Analyzers (LSAs) such as the Tri-Carb™ or Quantulus GCT™.

Insta-Fluor Plus has a high Tritium counting efficiency and very low diffusion through polyethylene vials. It is also compatible with organic based tissue solubilizers such as Soluene-350 (Revvity Product Number 6003038). An additional application is for analyzing CO2 gas after entrapment by Hyamine Hydroxide 10-X (Revvity Product Number 6003005) when a high sample load, > 10 mL, is required.

Insta-Fluor Plus has a low vapor pressure for lower fire risk and a flash-point of approximately 50oC.
