Overview
Several pre-formulated buffers are available for Alpha assays. These have been developed to meet the varying needs of different Alpha assays, and one of them may be a good choice for an assay that you are developing. AlphaLISA MES Buffer (5X) has been especially developed for AlphaLISA protein-protein interaction assays that require at a low pH solution.
In some cases, use of the buffer for assay development may also help distinguish between true, biologically relevant interactions from nonspecific ones by weaking electrostatic contacts, while preserving PPIs that depend on protonated residues or pH-sensitive conformations.
5X Formulation:
- 125 mM MES, pH 6.0
- 1.25 M NaCl
- 0.5% Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA)
- 2.5% Triton X-100
- 0.5% Dextran
- 0.25% Kathon CG II
