Application of [14C]urea can be found in: a rapid lateral flow stool antigen immunoassay and 14C-urea breath test for the diagnosis and eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection in children (Rapid HpSA), ornithine transcarbamylase and arginase I deficiency as responsible for diminished urea cycle function in the human hepatoblastoma cell line HepG2, urea and water permeability in dogfish gills, a modified 14C-urea breath test eliminating false negative results in patients taking a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), etc.
