D-glucose, labeled with tritium at C3. This product is supplied in 90% ethanol. Specifically-labeled glucose can be used for metabolic studies and glucose uptake.
For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures
1 mCi quantities of Glucose, D-[3-3H]-, (Specific Activity: 10-20 Ci) in ethanol solution are available for your research. Glucose uptake experiments are commonly used to measure cellular metabolic activity and glucose transport. Glucose uptake can be studied using radiolabeled glucose itself, or radiolabeled glucose analogs such as 2-deoxy-D-glucose (DOG) or 3-O-methyl-D-glucose (OMG).
D-Glucose (non-analog) can be incorporated into lipids, which provides a measurement of glucose transport. It is a tracer that is metabolized by the cells.
