Organ-on-chips- increased complexity for higher physiological relevance in pharmaceutical safety testing

organ-on-chips512

Organ-on-chip (OOC) technology aims to replicate the complex microenvironment of human organs in vitro, allowing the study of diverse physiological processes, test drugs, and to gain insights into human biology.

In this literature review, we explore the advancements of liver and kidney-on-chip models, illustrating how these platforms effectively simulate toxicity responses, facilitating the development of safer and more effective medicines.
